He is committed to Skagit County’s future and strives to model the values of respect, integrity, and empathy for his daughter every day.<br></p><p>Jeremy has served as the Northwest Regional Representative for the governor’s office for the past three years, working across the region to connect communities with state resources. He also brings experience in organizational leadership, budget oversight, collaboration, and serving diverse communities from prior roles in nonprofit leadership and as a preschool teacher.</p><p>For more than a decade, Jeremy has worked across Skagit County to expand civic participation, particularly within the Latino community, by supporting local candidates and campaigns and helping more people engage in the democratic process.</p><p>His combined experience has shaped a leadership style grounded in listening, transparency, accountability, and service. It has also reinforced a core belief: government works best when people feel heard, included, and able to trust the systems that serve them.<br><br><strong>Jeremy is running for auditor because local election officials are on the front lines of protecting our democracy.</strong></p><p>He is committed to defending Skagit County’s vote-by-mail system, partnering with state leaders to ensure elections remain secure and accessible, and building public trust through transparency, including exploring tools like live streaming ballot processing.</p><p>As your next Skagit County Auditor, Jeremy Harrison-Smith will work to protect election integrity, modernize county systems and services, expand access, and make it easier for every resident to interact with the county government.<br></p>

Harrison-Smith, a Democrat, said he will focus on making sure every eligible voter has their voice heard through elections that are accurate, accessible, and transparent, while also improving customer service and access to information in the auditor’s office.</p><p>As a lifelong Skagit County resident, Jeremy was born and raised in the community and now lives in Clear Lake with his wife, Johanna, and their five-year-old daughter. He brings more than a decade of experience expanding civic participation and improving access to government services. As the Northwest Regional Representative in the governor’s office, he supported residents during recent flood relief efforts, providing Skagitonians with important information and connecting them to valuable state resources.</p><p>“I have a deep commitment to fairness, inclusion, and public service,” Harrison-Smith said. “I believe transparency and accountability are essential for any good government, and this is especially true for the county auditor.”</p><p>Jeremy has been a strong advocate for expanding language access and outreach, particularly within Latino communities, using his Spanish fluency to engage new voters and strengthen community connections.
